Steward Health Care System Names Christopher Dunleavy Chief Financial Officer
Dunleavy joins the nation’s largest physician-led system from Brigham Health
DALLAS, TX -- Steward Health Care today announced that Christopher Dunleavy, M.B.A, C.P.A., will join the physician-led hospital network as Chief Financial Officer, effective October 25, 2021. Dunleavy joins Steward from Mass General Brigham, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Brigham Health since 2016.
With more than 25 years of experience in financial management and strategic planning, Dunleavy brings a wealth of expertise and insight to Steward. At Brigham Health, Dunleavy oversaw $16 billion in assets across the organization’s 1000+ bed academic medical center, community hospitals, and multiple ambulatory care and urgent care sites.

Prior to Brigham Health, Dunleavy spent three years at Vizient, Inc. as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. For over a decade, Dunleavy served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for USMD Holdings, Inc., which includes the USMD Health System and serves the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro Area. He has also served as Chief Financial Officer for Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital. Dunleavy earned his executive MBA from Baylor University and his BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington.
